More Indoctrination?

There are so many relevant topics available for discussion and as always I can only comment on a fraction of them. As the title indicates I am going to start with the news story about the second grade children from a New Jersey school videotaped singing what some are calling “praises” to President Obama. The School administration said it was only an activity celebrating Black History Month, but it clearly goes a bit deeper than that.  Apparently the Principal of the school has some sort of infatuation with our current President. She has long been a fan of Obama, hanging pictures of the president in her school’s hallways and touting her trip to his inauguration in the school yearbook. Included in the full-page yearbook spread were Obama campaign slogans (”Yes we can! Yes we did!”) and photos she took in Washington on Jan. 20, when she attended the inauguration. She was very unapologetic when asked about the video. She claimed she would do it again if she could. It seems as though she never asked herself the question, would she like it if her second grader was taped singing praises to George W. Bush. I think we all know the answer to that one.

I will include the lyrics on page 2 but they are a little creepy. Song 1 uses a piece from Jesus loves the little Children, and Song 2 is sung to the tune of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Both of which are very religious songs. Song 1 “He said red, yellow, black or white All are equal in his sight” I’ll admit they didn’t quite get it word for word, and they didn’t capitalize the word “his” so maybe this is all blown up for nothing. I appreciated what Mike Huckabee said concerning the situation. He said “ The problem was not the incident, but the defense of the incident and the tone deafness about why the parents would be upset.” And Upset they are. They are really getting it from all angles with this one. The Christians didn’t appreciate replacing references to Jesus with President Obama and there are those who don’t like the politics of our President and are angry that their child was singing a song for him. It has been reported that death threats have been sent to the school which has caused some of the parents to fear taking their child to school. It does seem like the whole situation has gotten bigger than it should. Mike Huckabee told a pair of concerned parents that the best course of action was to get on the school board because then they could have some say in the school’s policies.

In the end I think the biggest losers in the whole thing are the kids. Odds are they didn’t have any idea that the song they were singing would cause such dismay, and now they will most definitely be used for political gain in the near future.

If I may, a quick job well done to our FBI. Along with 2 other foiled terrorist plots across the country, one that hits closest to home was in Dallas, Texas.  A 19-year-old Jordanian national was arrested on charges he plotted to bomb a downtown Dallas skyscraper. Hosam Maher Husein Smadi placed what he thought was a bomb at the 60-story Fountain Place office tower, The device was given to him by an undercover FBI agent, so when the would-be terrorist dialed the number into his cell phone there was no destruction, only the sound of being arrested. Like some of you who work in highly populated areas I was working in a Dallas high rise just down the street from that very building. My hat is off to the FBI for saving countless lives.

Please be advised, The Report will be taking a week off as I am going on vacation. I will return with great enthusiasm and will do my best to not disappoint. Until then stay safe and stay informed.

Song 1:
Mm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that all must lend a hand
To make this country strong again
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight
Mmm, mmm, mm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mm
Barack Hussein Obama
